Meet the Musicians

“I didn’t have anything to believe in myself. But I just kept following my passion — Music. When my friends went to fight, I went to practice. I didn’t know that my passion was helping me then. But little by little, I started to see a path forward. Now I have a mission: to use my music to inspire my fellow Congolese..” — Yeremia

Originally from Butembo in North Kivu province, Yeremia Vindu is a trumpeter, singer, and composer. His music conveys peaceful messages and the rich tapestry of Congolese culture, while also popularizing jazz as a spirit and philosophy of freedom.

“They may try to take away hope. But I’m still here, loving my country, keeping hope alive, and standing strong. Nobody can strip hope away from me!” — Yusubu

A beatboxer, singer, and composer from Goma, Yusubu Kasereka blends Congolese traditional music with his innovative art, using his vocal talents and beatboxing skills to inspire confidence and promote peace.

“We are used to this war, to people killing each other. But we cannot just sit and cry all day. When darkness settles in my mind, I do what brings me comfort and peace—music. I will continue moving forward, believing that there will be light.” — Answer

A saxophonist from Butembo, Answer Jonathan Kavith is known for his unique and sweet timbre. His saxophone playing heals hearts and restores hope.

Originally from Bukavu in South Kivu province, Heritier Kandeke is a guitarist, arranger, and composer based in Goma. His guitar playing embodies musical diversity, with a particular love for jazz and blues, making his music a vehicle for peace and creativity.
